Take a well-earned rest on the edge of the crater at an altitude of 2,386 metres and witness fumaroles that eject tons of sulfur every day, ignited by the hot gas escaping the volcano and causing the blue fire to dance on the landscape. Then, feast your eyes on the best panorama of the sun rising over the one-kilometre-wide turquoise-coloured acidic crater lake. The reflection of the biggest reservoir of hot and acidic water on Earth on the walls of the Ijen crater is indescribable.
